“UTASS would like to thank Richard & Kath Iceton & British Wool Marketing Trainers, Richard Schofield and Bill Mason for their hard work in facilitating yet another excellent course for the 10 trainees who attended the 11th UTASS Shearing Course at the end of June. Trainees came away with a handbook and T shirts this year! Thanks too to Martin Sayer for offering a venue for a smaller group and to The Heart of Teesdale Landscape Partnership for part funding this training to encourage traditional skills.
In addition we would like to thank all those who have arranged equipment for training – Paul & Jen Johnson, Tom & Kay Hutchinson and Andrew & Sally Ann Teward, for providing equipment for the Lantra 13-16 Tractor Driving Courses held recently. Funding for this training was part of a pot of funding from The Sir Tom Cowie Charitable Trust for young drivers to prepare them for employment within the agricultural sector or to enable them to access training and employment opportunities outside their immediate area. Thanks too, to Middleton Mart Directors for providing a venue for this training and for the recent spray training courses and to H & H staff for their assistance with opening up the Mart when required.
For the spraying training we would like to thank Deepdale Offroad, Peter Hennessy, Sarah Wall, John & Ann Bell and Craig & Tracey Gibson for providing equipment and the trainers Vale Training and YPTC.”
