How many times have you completed a job and your mind is elsewhere? Remember you are your farms biggest asset – Look after yourself!

UTASS is supporting this year’s #MindYourHead campaign.

The Farm Safety Foundation will today launch its third annual Mind Your Head campaign to raise awareness of the issues facing farmers and the link between farm safety and mental health.

Following the past two Mind Your Head campaigns in 2018 and 2019, discussions around mental health in the farming industry are growing and people are starting to
recognise the impact of this issue on the industry.

According to the Farm Safety Foundation’s latest tracker results, in a UK wide survey of 450 young farmers under the age of 40 84% rated mental ill health as the biggest hidden danger in farming (an increase from 81% in 2018) and 85% agree that there is a definite link between mental health and farm safety.

Here at UTASS we believe that tackling the stigma surrounding poor mental health in the industry is vital and we ask those living and working in the agricultural sector do you really know enough about the issue to offer real help to someone who needs it?
